Dental Education has reached new heights within Harbourway Dental. Sian Etoe (picture left) is our new Dental Therapist, who will be providing patients with treatment and advise, working from a prescription provided by your Dentist.

Sarah Paine (pictured right) has just passed her Oral Health qualification. This will be a great asset to Harbourway Dental and all our patients. Sarah will be available to guide patients on many oral health issues, as well as signpost you to resources and services available.

We have also installed "GURU" into all of our surgeries. GURU is a computer programme, designed to provide a visual treatment plans and step-by-step explanation of proceedures. (You can see examples of the animation available, on our "Advanced Treatment" page.) We hope to be sending treatment plans, via email, in the near future. Please ask your dentist, if this is something you may be interested in.

We have taken all of these steps as part of our holistic approach to dentistry and in the hope that education will lead to better oral health (and general health) for future generations.

Mr Richard Fowler is one of the many brave lifeboatmen, to join in the challenge for 2012's SOS campaign. The Challenge is to set a course in a 'Pulling Lifeboat' from St Marys Bay around to Brixham (3 nautical miles), change crew and then row to Paignton Pier before heading to Beacon Cove before entering Torquay Harbour (5 nautical miles).

We are proud to support such a fantastic local charity that benefits our entire community. Their aim this year is to raise enough money for new lifejackets for Torbay Station. We are pleased to announce that we are now the proud sponsors of our very own Christmas Tree. It is on display in the Methodist Church in Fore Street. It is decorated with toothbrushes and toothpaste and looks very festive !

We are delighted to announce that Mr Phil Espley has joined the Harbourway Dental team. Phil will be working here on part-time basis and looks forward to welcoming both Private and NHS patients.

Time to say goodbye to the smilie face that we have had as our sign for the last few years (since the loss of our giant tooth-man !) It was decided that the time had come to update our look. It has been a busy time at Harbourway - we now have three dedicated sterilization areas. These areas insure that we conform to 'Best Practice Compliance (HTM 01-05)' meaning that the utmost care and attention has been given to sterilising the instruments used to treat you.
